Hospital background Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital (MRRH) is a major public referral and teaching hospital in Mbarara City, Western Uganda. It is the principal referral centre for the western region and serves as the teaching hospital for the Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) Faculty of Medicine. Alongside its public services, the hospital operates a private wing offering specialised and timely care.

About the role The private wing at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill two (2) Porter posts. Porters will assist with patient movement and ward logistics to keep the private wing running smoothly.

Key responsibilities - Transport patients safely between wards, units and departments - Assist with patient admissions, discharges and transfers - Move medical equipment, linen, supplies and specimens as required - Escort patients to procedures, tests and appointments - Keep corridors and wards tidy and report maintenance needs - Support nursing and support staff with day-to-day tasks

Qualifications and requirements - Minimum of Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) - Physically fit and able to assist with patient movement and ward logistics - Reliable, courteous and able to follow instructions - Ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
