Pharmacy Technician (4 Positions)

Hospital background Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital (MRRH) is a major public referral and teaching hospital in Mbarara City, Western Uganda. It is the principal referral centre for the western region and serves as the teaching hospital for the Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) Faculty of Medicine. Alongside its public services, the hospital operates a private wing offering specialised and timely care.

About the role The private wing at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill four (04) Pharmacy Technician posts. The technicians will support the dispensing and safe management of medicines in the private wing pharmacy.

Key responsibilities - Dispense medicines accurately and counsel patients on their use - Manage pharmacy stock, including ordering, storage and expiry monitoring - Prepare extemporaneous formulations as required - Maintain accurate pharmacy records and controlled-drug documentation - Support the pharmacist in daily pharmacy operations - Follow infection prevention and pharmaceutical care standards

Qualifications and requirements - Diploma or Certificate in Pharmacy from a recognised institution - Registration with the Allied Health Professionals Council with a valid practising licence - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing - Good communication and customer-care skills
