Laundry Attendant (1 Position)

Hospital background Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital (MRRH) is a major public referral and teaching hospital in Mbarara City, Western Uganda. It is the principal referral centre for the western region and serves as the teaching hospital for the Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) Faculty of Medicine. Alongside its public services, the hospital operates a private wing offering specialised and timely care.

About the role The private wing at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill one (1) Laundry Attendant post. The attendant will handle hospital linen and ensure a clean, safe environment for patients and staff.

Key responsibilities - Collect, sort, wash, dry and iron hospital linen and staff uniforms - Distribute clean linen to wards and collect used linen for processing - Operate and maintain laundry equipment safely - Report damaged linen and equipment to the supervisor - Follow infection prevention and hygiene standards in the laundry - Maintain a clean and organised laundry area

Qualifications and requirements - Minimum of Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) - Previous laundry or housekeeping experience in a healthcare facility is an added advantage - Reliable, hardworking and attentive to hygiene standards - Ability to stand and work for long hours
