Medical Officer

NovaCare Medical Hub — Health Beyond Limits, located on Plot 2A, 2nd Hospital Close, TASO Village, Mbarara City, is hiring a Medical Officer to join its clinical team.

About the facility

NovaCare Medical Hub is a fast-growing private medical centre in the heart of Mbarara City, built around a diagnostic-led model of care where laboratory results and imaging directly drive every treatment decision. Situated within TASO Village, the hub serves patients from across the greater Mbarara sub-region and western Uganda, handling a steady mix of outpatient consultations, emergency presentations and referred cases from surrounding clinics.

The role

As Medical Officer, you will run day-to-day clinical care across the outpatient department and emergency unit, working shoulder-to-shoulder with the on-site laboratory and imaging team. This is a role for a doctor who reads the CBC before reaching for the prescription pad — candidates who have practised in lab/imaging-integrated settings will fit right in.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first-line diagnosis, treatment and stabilisation, including emergency care
• Interpret laboratory and imaging findings to guide patient management plans
• Conduct ward rounds, clerking and follow-up of admitted patients
• Refer complex cases appropriately and maintain accurate medical records
• Support health education for patients and the TASO Village community

Requirements

• MBChB from a recognized university
• Valid registration/licence with the UMDPC
• Sound clinical skills across emergency care
• Minimum of 3 years of experience
• Prior exposure to diagnostic-led practice (lab/imaging-integrated care) an advantage
