Medical Officer - Kwata Medical Chambers

Kwata Medical Chambers, located in Komamboga, Kampala, is hiring a dedicated and passionate Medical Officer to join our clinical team. We are a growing health facility committed to providing quality, compassionate and affordable healthcare to the communities we serve.

About the role

The Medical Officer will be at the heart of patient care at our facility, working across the outpatient department, inpatient wards and emergency care. You will diagnose and treat patients, conduct ward rounds, perform minor surgical procedures and assist in emergency care. You will also supervise the nurses, clinical officers and other health workers who make up our clinical team. This is a hands-on, patient-facing role for a doctor who is confident, careful and genuinely committed to the wellbeing of every patient who walks through our doors.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients in OPD, inpatient and emergency departments
• Conduct ward rounds, clerking and patient management
• Perform minor surgical procedures and assist in emergency care
• Supervise nurses, clinical officers and other health workers
• Maintain accurate medical records and compile reports
• Promote health education and community outreach

Qualifications and requirements

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB/MD) from a recognized institution
• Valid registration with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
• Fresh graduates who have completed their internship and are awaiting their licence from UMDPC are encouraged to apply
• Good clinical skills, teamwork and a patient-centered attitude
