Medical Officer (3 Positions)

Hospital background Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital (MRRH) is a major public referral and teaching hospital in Mbarara City, Western Uganda. It is the principal referral centre for the western region and serves as the teaching hospital for the Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) Faculty of Medicine. Alongside its public services, the hospital operates a private wing offering specialised and timely care.

About the role The private wing at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill three (03) Medical Officer posts. Medical Officers will provide medical care to patients in the private wing, working within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities - Assess, diagnose and manage patients in the private wing - Conduct ward rounds and review patient progress - Perform clinical procedures within scope of practice - Order and interpret investigations and initiate treatment plans - Provide emergency medical care as required - Document patient care accurately and participate in clinical meetings

Qualifications and requirements - Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from a recognised university - Registration with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council (UMDPC) with a valid practising licence - Strong clinical, diagnostic and decision-making skills - Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays
