Human Resource Officer

Holy Innocents Children's Hospital (HICH) is a private, not-for-profit paediatric hospital founded by the Catholic Archdiocese of Mbarara, providing holistic, quality healthcare to children. HICH is hiring a Human Resource Officer to oversee daily staff operations, recruitment, records, professional growth and employee relations, while keeping the hospital compliant with labour regulations.

Key Responsibilities - Lead recruitment and onboarding for new staff - Design programmes that improve employee relations and workplace culture - Administer employee compensation and benefits; prepare benchmarking reports - Advocate for diversity, equity and workplace health & safety - Ensure employment policies comply with national labour law - Advise management on remuneration, layoffs and employment-law compliance

Qualifications - Degree in Human Resource Management from a reputable institution - At least 3 years of relevant working experience in a recognised institution

Key Skills Communication and conflict resolution, emotional intelligence and confidentiality, labour-law and HRIS/payroll knowledge, and talent management.
