This GBP 6.25 million challenge prize improves outcomes for snakebite-affected communities across two tracks (Launch and Growth). Initial submissions close September 16, 2026 at 12 noon UTC.
Snakebite kills or maims hundreds of thousands annually, with the burden falling hardest on rural, poor communities in Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. The prize funds innovative solutions across diagnostics, therapeutics and care pathways through Launch and Growth award tracks. Entries opened June 17, 2026 and the strict initial deadline is September 16, 2026, followed by judging and finalist development into January 2027. Support partners such as Villgro Africa help region-based innovators prepare competitive entries. Highly relevant for African health-tech teams addressing neglected tropical diseases.
