Location
Global (LMIC-focused; presentation in London, UK)
Deadline
15 September 2026

A global innovation competition seeking bold, practical ideas - devices, digital health tools, clinical pathways or training aids - to fight postpartum haemorrhage. Winner presents at the RCOG PPH Conference in London on October 5, 2026. Entries close September 15, 2026.

CRIBS International and GASOC launched this competition noting that a woman dies from PPH roughly every six minutes, with the burden concentrated in LMICs like Uganda. Entries can span medical devices, digital health solutions, clinical pathways, education/training tools or other approaches. Multidisciplinary teams are encouraged, and entrants do not need a finished prototype - a well-reasoned concept is acceptable, though more developed innovations may score better. Judging rewards practicality and feasibility in resource-constrained maternity settings. The prize includes a unique trophy crafted by Graham Tydeman (inventor of the Blood Clock), a 3-minute virtual or in-person presentation at the RCOG PPH Conference in London, and potential development support.

Eligibility

Open globally to individuals and multidisciplinary teams proposing practical innovations to improve prevention, management and outcomes of postpartum haemorrhage, particularly relevant to LMIC settings like Uganda. No finished prototype required.

How to apply

Prepare a 3-minute video pitch of your PPH innovation and submit via the competition form linked from the CRIBS announcement before September 15, 2026.
