TEF provides US$5,000 non-refundable seed capital, 12 weeks of business training, mentorship and network access. The established pattern is a portal opening January 1 with a March 1 deadline - prepare now for the expected January 2027 opening.

The Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme is Africa's leading entrepreneurship philanthropy initiative, having funded over 24,000 entrepreneurs, trained 2.5 million Africans and created more than 1.5 million jobs since 2015. The 2026 cycle ran January 1 to March 1, 2026, with successful applicants currently completing seed-capital documentation. Historically the portal reopens every January 1, so Ugandan health entrepreneurs should prepare applications for the expected early-January 2027 opening. Selection is made by TEF and an independent committee against published criteria.
