Shalom Medical Center in Kawempe-Kazo, Kampala, is seeking a Pediatrician on a business partner basis to provide comprehensive outpatient care to infants, children and adolescents. Candidates need an MBChB/MBBS or equivalent, a postgraduate qualification in Pediatrics, a valid practising licence and registration with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council (UMDPC).
About the role Shalom Medical Center, located at Kawempe-Kazo in Kampala, is seeking a qualified and experienced Pediatrician to join its team as a Business Partner. The Pediatrician will be responsible for providing comprehensive, high-quality medical care to infants, children and adolescents through outpatient consultations and follow-up care. The role involves diagnosing, treating and managing childhood illnesses while collaborating with other healthcare professionals to promote child health and wellbeing.
The Pediatrician will practice independently while utilising the medical centre as a consultation facility for patients. This is a business partner/consultant arrangement with a flexible consultation schedule based on patient appointments, making it an attractive opportunity for an established specialist seeking autonomy and professional growth in Kampala.

The specialist will manage a range of acute and chronic pediatric conditions, support growth and development monitoring, and educate caregivers on prevention, nutrition and wellness.
Key responsibilities Conducting comprehensive medical consultations for infants, children and adolescents; Diagnosing, treating and managing acute and chronic pediatric conditions; Monitoring child growth and developmental milestones; Prescribing appropriate medications and treatment plans; Providing preventive healthcare services, including immunization guidance and health education; Referring patients for specialised investigations or treatment where necessary; Maintaining accurate and confidential patient medical records; Educating parents and caregivers on disease prevention, nutrition and child wellness; Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of patient care; Adhering to professional, ethical and regulatory standards at all times.
Qualifications and requirements Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB/MBBS) or equivalent; Postgraduate qualification in Pediatrics; Valid practising licence; Registered with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council (UMDPC); Actively practicing as a Pediatrician.
Skills and competencies Pediatric diagnosis and clinical management; Patient-centred care; Clinical decision-making; Communication and interpersonal skills; Medical ethics and professionalism; Record keeping and documentation.
Working arrangement The role is offered as a Business Partner / Consultant arrangement with a flexible consultation schedule based on patient appointments. The specialist will consult and manage patients from Shalom Medical Centre - Kawempe-Kazo.
