Shalom Medical Center, a healthcare facility based in Kawempe-Kazo, Kampala, is recruiting a qualified and experienced Gynaecologist to provide specialised women's healthcare services. The Gynaecologist (Business Partner) will be responsible for the diagnosis, treatment and management of gynaecological conditions, offering consultations, preventive care, reproductive health services and patient education while utilising the medical centre as a consultation facility.

About the role This position operates on a Business Partner / Consultant arrangement. The successful specialist will consult and manage patients from Shalom Medical Centre at Kawempe-Kazo, Kampala, enjoying a flexible consultation schedule based on patient appointments. The role offers an experienced gynaecologist the opportunity to practise independently within an established medical centre while building a women's health practice serving the local community.

Key responsibilities - Conduct gynaecological consultations and examinations. - Diagnose and manage gynaecological disorders. - Provide reproductive health and family planning services. - Screen and manage cervical and reproductive health conditions. - Prescribe medications and treatment plans. - Refer patients for advanced investigations or specialised care where appropriate. - Maintain accurate and confidential medical records. - Provide patient education on women's health and disease prevention. - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care. - Maintain compliance with professional and ethical standards.

Qualifications and requirements - Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB/MBBS) or equivalent. - Postgraduate qualification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. - A valid practising licence. - Registration with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council (UMDPC). - Must be actively practising as a Gynaecologist.

Skills and competencies The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong competencies in women's health management, clinical assessment and diagnosis, patient counselling, medical ethics and professionalism, communication, and clinical decision-making. A patient-centred approach and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals are essential.

Working arrangement This is a Business Partner / Consultant arrangement with a flexible consultation schedule based on patient appointments. The specialist will consult and manage patients from Shalom Medical Centre, Kawempe-Kazo, Kampala, and is expected to maintain the highest professional and ethical standards while delivering quality care.
