Pan-African University (PAU) Scholarships 2027/2028

## About the scholarship The Pan African University (PAU) is the flagship higher-education project of the African Union, providing fully funded postgraduate study at a network of institutes hosted by leading African universities: PAUSTI (Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya), PAULESI (University of Ibadan, Nigeria), PAUGHSS (University of Yaoundé II and University of Buea, Cameroon), PAUWES (University of Tlemcen, Algeria) and PAUSS (space sciences, South Africa). Young, qualified applicants from African countries and the African diaspora — including Ugandans — are invited to apply for Master's and PhD programmes. Each year the African Union Commission issues a call for applications on the official PAU scholarship platform.

## What it covers The African Union Commission offers full scholarships to successful African candidates — a full award covering tuition, accommodation, living expenses and other study-related costs at the host institute. Scholarship awardees are expected to commit to working in Africa after graduation.

## Eligibility - Open to applicants from African countries and the African diaspora (Ugandans eligible) - Master's: maximum age 25 (male) / 28 (female); undergraduate degree with at least a Second Class Upper division in a relevant field; certified certificates and transcripts; passport or national ID; recent coloured passport photo; detailed CV; one recommendation letter; names and contacts of three reference lecturers - PhD: prior master's qualification required; other requirements in the official call document - Candidates may be required to undergo a written/oral examination after pre-selection
