Ugandan Government scholarships for undergraduate study in Algeria (2026/2027), 210 slots across medicine, engineering, science, architecture and agriculture.

The Ministry of Education and Sports invites applications from suitably qualified Ugandan scholars for undergraduate studies in Algerian universities for the 2026/2027 academic year.

All programmes are taught in French/English.

Eligibility - Minimum 2 Principal passes at O-Level in the essential subjects at A-Level - Below 25 years of age at time of application - A-Level results obtained no more than two years ago - Not open to applicants already on Government or other scholarship sponsorship

Terms of Scholarship Successful candidates must buy their own one-way air ticket to Algeria at the start of study, and will be required to complete a one-year French language course.

How to Apply Download the application form from www.education.go.ug and email it to scholarships@education.go.ug, or submit a typed application (indicating age, sex, course, home district, telephone contact, email, with copies of academic documents and a passport photo attached) addressed to:

The Secretary, Central Scholarships Committee, Ministry of Education and Sports, delivered to Department of Higher Education, 3rd Floor Wing A, Legacy Towers Room 9 or 15, Kyadondo Road, Kampala.

Applications must arrive by 5:30 p.m. on Thursday 3rd September 2026. The shortlist will be published on the Ministry website and on notice boards at Legacy Towers on Friday 11th September 2026.

Applicants are advised to begin the passport application process and verification of A-Level results in advance.

Eligibility

Ugandan applicants only, below 25 years old, with 2 Principal passes at A-Level in the relevant essential subjects and A-Level results from within the last two years.
