Egyptian Government Scholarships for Ugandans (via MoES)

## About the scholarship The Egyptian Government Scholarship is a bilateral award offered to Ugandan citizens through Uganda's Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES). Egypt's Ministry of Higher Education regularly allocates a quota of undergraduate places in Egyptian universities for Ugandan scholars, and the MoES advertises the application window on its Scholarships page. The 2025/2026 advert invited suitably qualified Ugandan scholars to pursue undergraduate studies in Egyptian Universities, and Egypt has publicly committed to guaranteeing scholarship offers to Ugandan students.

## What it covers The scholarship is a government-funded award covering tuition and study-related costs at the host Egyptian university for the duration of the programme. The MoES advert does not publish a detailed cash-benefit breakdown, so confirm the exact coverage (accommodation, stipend, airfare) with the Ministry of Education and Sports or the Egyptian mission when the next cycle opens.

## Eligibility (from the 2025/2026 MoES advert) - Ugandan citizens - Minimum of two 'Cs' at A-level in the relevant subjects, obtained no more than two years before application - Below 20 years of age at the time of application - Not currently studying at a public university on Government sponsorship or another scholarship - Slots (2025/26): Civil Engineering (4), Textile Engineering (3), Veterinary Medicine (3), Medicine (3), Tourism and Hotel Management (2)

## How to apply Download the form from education.go.ug/scholarships, then submit a cover letter with passport photo plus certified copies of certificates/transcripts to the MoES Central Scholarships Committee (in person at Legacy Towers, Kampala, or email scholarships@education.go.ug).
