ICCR awards 3,000+ scholarships a year across 21 schemes to students from ~180 countries, including Ugandans, for undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD study in India. Applications go through the official A2A portal via the Indian High Commission in Kampala.

## About the scholarship The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) is an autonomous body of the Government of India's Ministry of External Affairs and runs one of the world's largest scholarship programmes for foreign students. It administers about 3,000+ scholarships annually under 21 different schemes for students from about 180 countries, including African nations such as Uganda. Scholarships cover undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD levels at Central and State universities, institutes, NITs and agricultural institutions across India — in fields from engineering and computing to arts, philosophy, political science and classics. Applications are made through the official ICCR 'Admissions to Alumni' (A2A) scholarship portal and are processed through Indian missions abroad — for Ugandans, the High Commission of India in Kampala.

## What it covers ICCR schemes generally cover the cost of tuition at the host Indian institution, together with a monthly stipend/allowance and, for most schemes, accommodation and related benefits. Because each of the 21 schemes has its own benefit structure, exact figures should be confirmed with the A2A portal and the Indian High Commission in Kampala before applying.
