The Global AMR Media Awards, hosted by the Global AMR Media Alliance (over 300 media members from 33 countries), recognize journalists, bloggers, podcasters, broadcasters and social media creators who make the invisible threat of AMR visible through investigative reports, features, photo stories and other impactful communications. AMR contributes to nearly 5 million deaths annually and ranks among the top ten global health threats, making this highly relevant to Ugandan health reporters covering drug-resistant infections, prescribing practices and infection control. Regional prizes ensure African entries compete against peers rather than a single global field. Multiple entries permitted and judged separately. Winners announced during an online ceremony ahead of World AMR Awareness Week in November 2026.
