The 9th WONCA Africa Region Conference is organised by the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA) Africa region, bringing together family medicine and primary care professionals from across the continent.

## About this conference The conference takes place September 10-11, 2026 in Gaborone, Botswana, under the theme "We Are One: Africa united to advance planetary health through collaboration and resource alignment in Primary Health Care." Sessions focus on primary healthcare delivery, climate change and health, family medicine development in Africa, and youth engagement in health solutions, framed around developing "African solutions to African problems." For Ugandan family medicine and primary care practitioners, the conference is a chance to exchange practical experience with peers from across Africa on climate-health links and strengthening primary care systems. Co-chaired by Dr. Claire Brockbank and Prof. Billy Tsima, it makes a specific effort to include francophone delegates, with French interpretation and translated materials.
