WHO Internship Programme

The World Health Organization (WHO) is the United Nations agency directing global public health, coordinating the world's response to health emergencies and setting international health standards. Its Internship Programme places students and recent graduates inside WHO's technical and administrative teams at headquarters, regional, and country offices.

## About this internship WHO interns are attached full-time to a technical unit, typically in areas such as public health, medicine, social science, management, administration, communications, or external relations, for a minimum of six weeks up to a maximum of 24 weeks depending on the unit's needs. Placements are posted individually as vacancy notices across WHO's headquarters (Geneva), regional offices, and country offices, so the exact work and location vary by posting.

## Who can apply - Currently enrolled in a university degree (undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate) in a relevant field, or applying within 18 months of completing that qualification - Have completed at least three years of full-time university study before the internship starts - At least 20 years old at the time of application - Fluent in at least one working language of the office you are applying to - Hold a valid passport from a WHO Member State - Not have an immediate relative on WHO staff - Never have previously completed a WHO internship

## How to apply Applications are only accepted through individual vacancy notices on the WHO Careers site, using WHO's online recruitment system (Stellis) - there is no way to apply outside Stellis. Before an offer is confirmed, selected candidates must submit proof of enrollment or degree completion, a completed WHO medical fitness form, and a Declaration of Interests.
