More than 300 scholarships are offered to international graduate researchers annually, covering living stipends and full or partial tuition fee remission. The main Round 1 deadline for 2027 commencement is October 31, 2026.
The University of Melbourne automatically considers complete graduate research course applications received by round closing dates for Graduate Research Scholarships, which provide a tax-free living allowance and fee offset; some awards add health cover and relocation allowances. Health-related research candidates apply through the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences (MDHS). Round 1 applications for 2027 commencement close 31 October 2026 with outcomes notified around 18 December 2026; later rounds close 31 January and 15 May 2027. Deferred or currently enrolled researchers seeking reconsideration must submit a standalone form by 31 October.
