Full or partial DGD scholarships covering tuition and living costs for the 60-ECTS MSc in Tropical Medicine, MSc Public Health (health systems & disease control orientations), short courses and sandwich PhD places. Deadline: January 15, 2027.

Applications for the 2027-28 academic year are open with a deadline of January 15, 2027 (courses run Sep 2027-Jul 2028). DGD also funds three-to-five PhD scholarships per year (up to 48 months, sandwich model) and specialised short courses in tropical medicine and international health. ITM is one of Europe's leading tropical medicine institutes with deep East African research partnerships, making it a natural fit for Ugandan clinicians and lab scientists. Candidates apply for admission first and download the DGD scholarship form during the application process.

Eligibility

Citizens of OECD-DAC low/middle-income countries (incl. Uganda) residing in an LMIC; early- or mid-career physicians, veterinarians, laboratory scientists and public health professionals meeting academic admission criteria; English proficiency required.
