The University of Glasgow African Excellence Award offers up to 16 full tuition-fee waivers to outstanding African students admitted to a one-year postgraduate taught Master's programme at the University of Glasgow.

## About this scholarship The award supports high-achieving African students, in any discipline, who hold an offer for a one-year postgraduate Master's starting in the September 2026 intake. It is a separate scholarship application on top of the standard university admission process.

## Who can apply - Applicants must be domiciled in Africa and hold a passport from one of the eligible African countries. - Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence equivalent to a UK First Class Honours degree. - Applicants must hold an offer of a place on a one-year, postgraduate taught Master's programme at Glasgow for the September 2026 intake (postgraduate diplomas and certificates are not eligible). - Applicants must have international (overseas) fee status. - Applicants must be able to demonstrate a clear career and/or development plan that the Master's will support. - If shortlisted, applicants must be able to show they meet UKVI living-cost/maintenance requirements by 30 June 2026.

Eligibility

Open to applicants domiciled in Africa holding a passport from an eligible African country, with academic results equivalent to UK First Class Honours, who already hold an offer for a one-year postgraduate taught Master's at Glasgow (any discipline) for the September 2026 intake, and have international fee status.
