Patient-education and preventive-care internship helping communities reduce avoidable hospital visits and adopt sustainable self-care practices. Next 2026 arrival dates: September 26 and October 17.

Interns conduct patient education sessions, monitor patient progress, develop accessible health materials, and support workshops and awareness drives with a Ugandan community-based nonprofit. Includes homestay with a host family, meals, local SIM/internet, orientation, training in project design and M&E, mid-program retreat and certificate (fee-based placement). Strong fit for public health students wanting grassroots health-promotion experience in Uganda.

Eligibility

Must be a university student in public health, community development, social work or related field; strong communication skills; full-time commitment (30-40 hours/week); minimum 8 weeks.
