Fully funded two-year applied epidemiology fellowship for young African public health professionals, with stipend, travel, insurance and mentorship covered. Programme starts October 2026.

Africa CDC's flagship African Epidemic Service builds mid-level public health workforce capacity through three months of in-person training in Addis Ababa followed by 21 months of field-based applied epidemiology training in a Member State. Fully funded: monthly stipends, health insurance, accommodation-related support, learning materials and mentorship. This is a rare fully-funded entry point into the continental public health workforce for young Ugandan graduates.

Eligibility

Citizens of African Union Member States (incl. Uganda) under 35 with a bachelor's or master's degree in public health or related field; government institution letter of support required.

Apply online via the AU recruitment portal with the mandatory AU CV template, degree certificates/transcripts, two recommendation letters, motivation statement (max 500 words) and letter of support from a government institution by August 26, 2026.
