About the role
Kampala Hospital, where compassionate care meets clinical excellence, is seeking a qualified, patient-focused and motivated Physiotherapist to provide evidence-based physiotherapy services to both inpatients and outpatients while working as part of a multidisciplinary team. The position is full-time and based in Kampala.
The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload across inpatient and outpatient settings, working alongside doctors, nurses and other allied health professionals to support patients through assessment, treatment and rehabilitation. The role offers the opportunity to apply evidence-based practice across a broad range of clinical presentations and to contribute to the hospital's quality improvement and continuing education culture.
Patients will range from those recovering from surgery or injury to those living with neurological, respiratory or musculoskeletal conditions, as well as children and women's health cases. Each patient requires an individualised assessment and a treatment plan built around their specific goals and circumstances, delivered with compassion and clear communication with both the patient and their caregivers.
The Physiotherapist will work closely with the medical and nursing teams, participating in ward rounds and care planning as needed, and will contribute to the hospital's broader mission of delivering quality healthcare that transforms lives.

Key responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose and treat patients with a wide range of conditions, including musculoskeletal, neurological, orthopaedic, respiratory, paediatric, post-surgical and uro-gynaecological cases.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and electrotherapy.
- Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with hospital standards.
- Educate patients and caregivers on rehabilitation, injury prevention and health promotion.
- Participate in Continuous Medical Education (CME), quality improvement initiatives and multidisciplinary team activities.
The role therefore combines direct clinical care with patient and caregiver education, accurate documentation and active participation in the hospital's multidisciplinary team and professional development activities.

Qualifications and experience
- Degree or Diploma in Medical Physiotherapy.
- Valid Allied Health Professionals Council Practising Licence.
