Three scholarships a year covering full tuition plus a GBP 22,000 stipend for a one-year MSc at LSHTM, for sub-Saharan African nationals who intend to return home after graduating. Reopens annually; the 2026-27 cycle closed 4 March 2026.
The GSK Scholarships for Future Health Leaders fund a small number of sub-Saharan African health professionals to complete a fully funded Master's degree at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), supported by GSK.
## About this scholarship Three scholarships are available for the 2026-27 academic year, aimed at supporting the training and development of the next generation of global health leaders and strengthening the capacity of health systems and health-related research across Africa. Scholars complete one of LSHTM's London-based, intensive one-year MSc programmes.
## Who can apply - Applicants must be nationals of, and resident in, a country in sub-Saharan Africa. - Applicants must intend to return to sub-Saharan Africa on completion of their MSc year at LSHTM. - Applicants must confirm they would not be able to pay for the programme without this funding. - Applicants must meet LSHTM's minimum English language requirements by Monday 15 June 2026. - Applicants must already hold an offer of admission for 2026-27 to one of LSHTM's London-based intensive MSc programmes.
## What it covers - Full tuition fees, including any mandatory field trip fees. - A tax-free stipend (living allowance) of GBP 22,000.
## How to apply Applicants must meet all eligibility criteria and complete a two-step application process (course application plus scholarship application) through LSHTM by the scholarship deadline.
## Key dates - Application deadline: 16:00 BST, Wednesday 4 March 2026. - English language proficiency confirmation deadline (if shortlisted): Monday 15 June 2026.
