Addressing Neglected Areas of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in Sub-Saharan Africa (ANeSA), Call for Letters of Interest

This call from Canada's International Development Research Centre (IDRC), delivered with Global Affairs Canada and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, funds implementation research on neglected sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) issues across sub-Saharan Africa.

## About this grant This is Cohort 2 of the ANeSA program, which funds implementation research into sustainable, evidence-informed and gender-transformative SRHR interventions for underserved populations in sub-Saharan Africa. Selected teams will investigate one of five priority areas: improving family planning and contraceptive access; expanding safe abortion and post-abortion care where legally permitted; upholding SRHR rights and services for adolescents; preventing sexual and gender-based violence and improving related services; and strengthening SRHR advocacy.

## Who can apply - Lead researchers must be based in sub-Saharan Africa and affiliated with an eligible institution in an eligible country - Applications are submitted by Implementation Research Teams, which must meet the composition requirements set out in the official call document - All sub-Saharan African countries are eligible, including (among others) Angola, Benin, Botswana, Cameroon, DRC, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Mali, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe - Applicants from some countries may require additional internal IDRC approval, as noted in the official call document

## What it covers - Up to six grants of CAD 1.2 million each - Grant duration of up to 36 months

## How to apply - Stage 1: submit a Letter of Interest through the SurveyMonkey Apply platform (an account must be created first) - Up to 12 Letter-of-Interest applicants are invited to advance to Stage 2 - Stage 2: shortlisted teams attend a proposal development workshop before submitting a full proposal - Consult the official Call for Letters of Interest document for the complete list of required submission materials - Questions can be sent to SRHR-SDSR@idrc.ca
