Enrolled Midwife (2 Positions) - Grace Family Health Centre

Grace Family Health Centre, located in Banda - Nakisunga, Mukono District, is looking for two committed and compassionate Enrolled Midwives to join our maternal and newborn health team on a full-time basis. We are dedicated to delivering safe, respectful and quality care to the mothers and babies of our community, and we want midwives who share that commitment.

About the role

The Enrolled Midwives will support safe and quality maternal and newborn services under the direction of qualified healthcare professionals. You will work alongside our clinical team to provide care across the whole maternity journey, from antenatal visits through labour and delivery to postnatal follow-up. This is a rewarding, hands-on role for a registered midwife who is calm under pressure, works well in a team and genuinely cares about the wellbeing of mothers and their babies. Mothers across Banda and Nakisunga trust us with their most important moments, and a reliable, skilled midwife is at the heart of that trust. You will be part of a team that celebrates every safe delivery and supports one another through every challenging one.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with antenatal, labour, delivery and postnatal care
• Monitor mothers and newborns and report any abnormalities promptly
• Provide newborn care and support breastfeeding
• Educate mothers and families on maternal and newborn health
• Maintain accurate maternity records and clinical documentation
• Follow infection-control procedures and facility safety standards
• Work as part of the maternity team under the direction of qualified healthcare professionals

Qualifications and requirements

• Certificate or Diploma in Midwifery or an equivalent qualification
• Valid registration and practising licence
• Relevant maternity experience is an advantage
• Good communication, teamwork and patient-care skills
• A caring, professional attitude and respect for patient privacy and dignity
• Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly in emergencies
