The successful candidates will provide nursing care and health support to students and staff within the Institute's learning environment.
Working within a medical and health training institution, the School Nurse will play an important role in promoting a healthy campus community. The role involves managing the day-to-day health needs of learners and staff, providing first aid and basic nursing care, supporting emergency response during school activities, and contributing to the general wellbeing of the Institute community. The School Nurse will work closely with the Institute's academic and administrative teams to ensure that learners are healthy and ready to study, and will help create an environment where health concerns are identified early and addressed promptly. Key responsibilities Providing first aid and basic nursing care to students and staff; Managing the school health unit and maintaining accurate medical records; Conducting health checks and delivering health education sessions; Referring cases that require further medical attention to appropriate health facilities; Promoting hygiene and disease prevention within the institute community; Supporting emergency response and care during school activities and events; Ensuring proper storage and availability of first aid supplies and medicines.
Qualifications, skills and experience A Diploma in Nursing or a Certificate in Nursing from a recognised institution; At least one (1) year of working experience in a reputable medical training institute or a relevant health training field; Registration with the relevant nursing professional body; Good communication and interpersonal skills, empathy, and a genuine commitment to student wellbeing; The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
