Africa CDC's premier 12-month executive leadership fellowship builds the 'new public health order' generation, with five cohorts (109 fellows from 34 countries) graduated and all costs covered. The next cohort call is expected toward the end of 2026.

Fellows undertake high-level leadership training, mentorship and practical exposure to complex regional and global health challenges, leading implementation of Africa's Health Security and Sovereignty Agenda. Africa CDC covers travel, daily allowances and insurance during residential sessions, and alumni have risen to cabinet-level and senior institutional roles across the continent. Required materials typically include an employer support letter, two recommendation letters, a personal statement (max 400 words) and a leadership challenge project proposal. Eligibility

Citizens of AU Member States including Uganda holding a postgraduate degree in a relevant public health field with at least 10 years of professional experience after the Masters; employer support letter required. Cohorts prioritize SRH and public mental health experts.
