A year-long media, communication and advocacy fellowship that equips frontline health and development experts to shape global discourse, with 187 fellows from 40+ countries to date. Entry windows open periodically - currently not accepting applications.

New Voices provides world-class communications training, media coaching, op-ed development, speaking platforms such as Aspen Ideas Health, and ongoing alumni amplification. All fellowship-related costs and media-related travel are covered by the Aspen Institute. Many fellows are physicians, public health researchers and health journalists from East Africa who go on to influence national and global policy conversations. Windows have typically opened mid-year with fall deadlines; interested Ugandans should sign up for AGI updates and prepare nomination materials in advance.

Eligibility

Locally-rooted development and health experts - scientists, physicians, advocates, journalists - from developing countries including Uganda, with significant professional achievement and a desire to engage international media.
