Kabale University, a public university based in Kabale, Uganda, is recruiting an Enrolled Nurse to join its health team. The Enrolled Nurse will work under the supervision of senior nursing and medical staff to deliver safe, compassionate and effective nursing care to patients, contributing to the wellbeing of the university community and the surrounding population.
About the role This is an entry-level nursing position suited to a qualified and empathetic nurse who is committed to high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will support registered nurses, doctors and other healthcare providers in a fast-paced environment, working as part of a team to achieve the best patient outcomes.
Key responsibilities - Work under the supervision of senior nursing staff. - Perform physical examinations, including checking patients' pulse, temperature and blood pressure. - Assist patients with mobility issues and personal hygiene tasks. - Work with registered nurses, doctors and other healthcare providers to create patient care plans. - Write and maintain accurate patient notes. - Provide first aid in medical emergencies. - Support the delivery of compassionate, patient-centred care at all times.
Person specifications - Certificate in Nursing from a recognized institution. - Registration with the Uganda Nursing and Midwifery Council. - Proven experience working as an Enrolled Nurse. - Empathetic and caring towards patients. - Organised with excellent communication skills. - Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. - Resilient and able to spend long shifts on your feet. - Professional with a strong work ethic. - Able to work as part of a team to achieve the best patient outcomes.
