Ibanda District Local Government, under Advert No. 01/2026, invites suitably qualified Ugandans to apply for the post of Enrolled Nurse to provide basic nursing care, administer medication, monitor patient conditions and maintain patient hygiene and comfort in district health facilities.
About the role The Ibanda District Local Government, through the Ibanda District Service Commission, invites applications from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the vacant post of Enrolled Nurse under External and Internal Job Advert No. 01/2026 of August 1, 2026. The position exists within Ibanda District Local Government and Ibanda Municipal Council.
The Enrolled Nurse will provide basic nursing care to patients within the district health services, ensuring that patients receive compassionate, competent and safe care. This is a full-time post within the public health service and an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to healthcare delivery in the community.
Working within district health facilities, the Enrolled Nurse will deliver day-to-day nursing care to patients, supporting medical and nursing teams in the management of common conditions. The role combines direct patient care, monitoring of patient conditions, health education and record keeping, and requires a caring and professional approach in a busy healthcare environment.
Key responsibilities Providing basic nursing care to patients, including administering medication; Monitoring patient conditions and reporting changes to the relevant health workers; Maintaining patient hygiene, comfort and dignity; Supporting health education and disease prevention activities; Maintaining accurate patient records and nursing documentation; Working as part of the healthcare team to ensure quality care delivery; Assisting with the management of wards and outpatient services as required.
Qualifications and requirements Applicants must be suitably qualified Ugandans meeting the requirements of the LG Job Specifications and Description (2011) for the post of Enrolled Nurse.
