Enrolled Nurse, DR-TB (Locum)

The DR-TB Nurse is responsible for providing holistic nursing care to patients through assessment, treatment, health education, and follow-up coordination. This role ensures efficient patient flow, infection control, and accurate documentation while working collaboratively within the healthcare team. The nurse also offers HIV counseling and testing services, manages nursing supplies, and supports overall facility operations to promote quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care and treatment to patients, ensuring compliance with established clinical guidelines
• Conduct patient assessments and monitor patient conditions to inform care decisions
• Register and triage patients to prioritize care and ensure efficient patient flow
• Deliver health education and counseling to patients and their families on disease prevention and health promotion
• Administer medications and perform nursing procedures as prescribed by healthcare providers
• Implement infection prevention and control measures, especially for infectious diseases
• Prepare and maintain nursing work areas and equipment
• Coordinate follow-up care, including appointments, referrals, and diagnostic investigations
• Collaborate with the healthcare team on bedside nursing care and clinical procedures
• Participate in shift handovers, maintain nursing records, and submit daily activity reports
• Offer HIV counseling and testing services with confidentiality and empathy
• Maintain accurate, secure, and confidential patient records
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support patient care and facility operations

Qualifications

• Certificate in Nursing (Diploma in Nursing an added advantage)
• At least one year's work experience in DR-TB management
• Ability to operate independently with limited direct supervision
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated experience in onsite training and QI coaching approaches
• Demonstrated capacity to build and maintain productive working relationships with a wide network of partners and stakeholders
